Como percebo que o meu filho tem sono? Quais os sinais que dá? Como é que passa de ter sono a estar exausto? Qual a melhor altura para o pôr na cama?
Sabemos que nos primeiros meses pode ser muito difícil perceber tudo o que o bebé quer ou sente e, que muitas vezes, vamos por tentativa erro até conseguirmos que fique tranquilo. Isto é normal. Os primeiros tempos são mesmo assim. É um período de conhecimento mutuo onde pais e bebé constroem a sua relação, aprendem a ler e interpretar os sinais e as respostas um do outro. É neste momento que os pais aprendem a ler os sinais daquele bebé único, que sons faz quando está com fome, como esfrega os olhos quando tem sono, qual é o seu choro de dor, a sua expressão de desconforto ou mesmo o seu choro quando precisa de colo.
É muito importante percebermos que os sinais que o bebé nos dá são a única forma que este tem de comunicar;
Esta semana gostávamos de nos focar nos sinais de sono. Como percebo que o meu filho tem sono? Que sinais dá?
Apesar de sabermos que cada bebé é único e como tal tem a sua linguagem própria, há alguns sinais que são comuns à maioria dos bebés:
– Esfrega os olhos, as orelhas, ou mesmo a cara
– Vira a cara para o lado oposto do estimulo que o estava a distrair
– Boceja, soluça, ou espirra com frequência
– Choraminga e mexe o corpo, que vai aumentando consoante o cansaço
– Não quer ser deixado no chão, ou mesmo na cama, pedindo sempre o colo
– Não se consegue focar na mesma brincadeira mudando de actividade constantemente
– Fica cheio de energia, muito agitado, sempre dum lado para o outro
Como evoluem os sinais de sono? Em que altura devo por o meu filho na cama?
A verdade é que muitas vezes os primeiros sinais de sono passam despercebidos e quando percebemos que o nosso filho está a correr sem parar pela casa e a trocar de brinquedo constantemente não associamos logo a sono. Dizemos que está cheio de energia ou então rabugento. Mas é importante ter em mente que os sinais de sono aparecem progressivamente, dos mais discretos para a agitação continua e que quanto mais cedo nos apercebermos mais fácil vai ser a transição para o sono. Um bebé muito agitado tem mais dificuldade em adormecer. Leva mais tempo a ser tranquilizado.
O ideal é estar atento aos sinais do bebé e levá-lo para o quarto aos primeiros sinais de sono. Se pusermos o bebé com sono mas ainda tranquilo na cama, será muito mais fácil que adormeça rapidamente, sem muita agitação e que tenha um sono de qualidade. Pelo contrário, se deixarmos o bebé chegar a um estado de cansaço extremo, vai ser mais difícil acalmá-lo e deixa-lo tranquilo o suficiente para que adormeça facilmente e sem luta. E mesmo quando adormece rapidamente é provável que volte a despertar pouco tempo depois por estar muito agitado.
